- GOTS (GLOBAL ORGANIC TEXTILE STANDARD)
The purpose of this standard is to define the conditions to ensure the organic status of textile products, from the harvest of raw materials to labeling, in order to provide a reliable assurance to the end consumer with an environmentally and socially responsible production approach
Textile manufacturers easily export their organic fabrics and clothing with this certificate, which is accepted in all major markets. This standard covers the production, processing, packaging, labeling, trade and distribution of all textile products made of at least 70% certified organic natural fiber.
Some of the environmental criteria;
- Organic fiber products must be differentiated from conventional fiber products and clearly identified at each stage of the process chain.
- All chemical inputs (e.g. dyes, auxiliaries and process chemicals) must be evaluated and meet essential requirements regarding toxicity and biodegradability/elimination.
- Inputs such as toxic heavy metals, formaldehyde, aromatic solvents, functional nanoparticles, genetically modified organisms (GMO) and their enzymes are prohibited.
- Transfer printing using aromatic solvents and plastisol printing using phthalate-PVC are prohibited.
- There are also restrictions for accessories. (e.g. PVC, nickel or chrome not allowed)
- Waste water from all wet treatment units must be treated in a functional wastewater treatment plant.
Some of the production criteria;
- Raw materials, intermediates, finished textiles and accessories must meet the limits for unwanted residues.
- Textile parameters must be met (friction, sweat, light and washing fastness, etc. values)
Some of the social criteria;
Social criteria based on the basic norms of the International Labor Organization (ILO) are expected to be met by all processors and manufacturers.
Some of these are those;
- Forced or bonded labor is prohibited.
- The right to organize and collective bargaining cannot be prevented.
- Working conditions must be safe and suitable for health.
- Child labor cannot be employed
- Minimum wage should be applied.
- Working hours must comply with established legal requirements.
- Discrimination cannot be applied for any reason.
- Employees should be provided with regular employment.
- Harsh or inhuman treatment is prohibited.
- OCS (ORGANIC CONTENT STANDARD)
The purpose of the Organic Content Standard (OCS) is to provide trust in organic content claims. OCS achieves this goal by verifying the amount and presence of organic material in the final product. It provides a strong supply chain management system through certification, starting from the organic raw material source to the final product.
General Information
- OCS is one of the Textile Exchange Standards.
- OCS is a standard for monitoring and validating organically grown content in finished products.
- It is used in all non-food products containing 5-100% organic material.
- OCS uses chain of custody requirements of the Content Claim Standard (CCS).
- RCS (RECYCLED CLAIM STANDARD)
RCS proves the presence and amount of recycled material in the final product with third-party input and chain of custody verification.
General information
- RCS is one of the Textile Exchange Standards.
- RCS is the established standard for monitoring and validating recycled grown content in finished products.
- It is applied to all non-food products containing 5-100% recycled materials.
- RCS uses chain of custody requirements of the Content Claim Standard (CCS).
Basic Requirements of the Standard
Use of certified organic product and traceability of the product
- GRS (GLOBAL RECYCLE STANDARD)
GRS is an international, optional, complete product standard that sets requirements for certification of recycled content, chain of audit, social and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions.
The aim of the GRS is to increase the use of recycled materials in products and to reduce or eliminate the damage caused by production. In addition, it is to reduce the harmful effects of production on people and the environment, to ensure that the materials in the final product are truly recycled and processed in a more sustainable way, and to encourage innovation by addressing quality issues in the use of recycled materials
GRS is designed for use in any product containing at least 20% recycled material. From the recycling stage to the final sale certificate, every stage of production must be documented.
OCS and RCS standards can be applied in all our printing and embroidery production. However, since the use of chemicals is limited in GRS and GOTS standards, it cannot be used in Flock printing, Sublimation printing, Digital printing, Silicone (Emboss) printing and Injection printing.
It is sufficient to use Oeko-tex approved material for embroidery. All our embroidery production meets the standard.
